At the announcement ceremony for the FAST500 ranking – Top 500 Fastest Growing Enterprises in Vietnam for 2022, Viet Thuan Group was named in 44th place.
Representatives of Viet Thuan Group attended the ceremony for the 500 fastest-growing enterprises in Vietnam in 2022.
Viet Thuan Group originated from Viet Thuan Transport Co., Ltd., established in 2005 with initial facilities comprising just two small vessels with a capacity of a few hundred tons and a workforce of over 20 people. After 17 years of growth and development, Viet Thuan Group has become a strong multi-sector economic group, headquartered at 412 Quang Trung Street, Uong Bi City (Quang Ninh).
Currently, Viet Thuan Group has six member companies, nearly 1,500 employees, and operates close to 100 modern watercraft with a total capacity of approximately 1 million tons. The group’s charter capital amounts to thousands of billion VND, with an annual transportation volume reaching tens of millions of tons.
As the leading bulk transport group in Vietnam, Viet Thuan Group focuses on key services such as coastal and deep-sea cargo transportation, vehicle leasing, warehousing and storage services, and inland waterway transportation.
In 2021, Viet Thuan achieved a transportation volume of over 20 million tons, contributing 298 billion VND to the state budget. Its operational scope covers the entire territorial waters of Vietnam and several international maritime routes.
To date, Viet Thuan is the first and only entity in Vietnam to invest in the construction of specialized vessels for coal transportation to supply thermal power plants nationwide.
With strong financial capabilities and resources, Viet Thuan Group actively contributes to stabilizing maritime freight rates, ensuring national energy security, and supporting economic development and nation-building. The group is a strategic partner of major domestic industrial corporations such as the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), and the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). Viet Thuan is also a reliable and traditional partner of international companies and groups like GTM, REX (China), Tata (India), Trafigura (Singapore), Wel-Hunt (Taiwan), and Suek (Switzerland).
Since 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the national economy and Viet Thuan Group’s business operations. Thanks to flexible management, bold and correct decisions from the Chairman of the Board and the leadership team, along with the solidarity, effort, and creativity of all employees, as well as effective cooperation among member units, Viet Thuan has overcome challenges, maintained growth momentum, and exceeded its planned targets for transportation volume, revenue, and profit, ensuring an increase of at least 12% year-on-year.
With its continually expanding scale, Viet Thuan Hotel was established at the end of 2021, marking a transformation for the group to meet the service needs of the tourism industry.
In early 2022, the La Siesta Superyacht pair, valued at nearly 1 trillion VND, was launched as a result of collaboration between Viet Thuan Group and EHG Group. These modern, luxurious yachts are the top in Vietnam and among the best in the world, aimed at tapping into the tourism potential of Ha Long Bay – Quang Ninh, Lan Ha Bay, and Cat Ba – Hai Phong. This initiative represents a step toward providing sightseeing and resort services on water areas, promoting coastal tourism across Vietnam, thereby contributing to national sovereignty affirmation and green growth in Vietnam’s tourism sector.
